Collaboration with First Nations artists Rachel Shields, Gumaroy Newman and Milan Dhiiyaan to run a unique performance called “The Spirit of Place” inspired by The Uptown Festival theme “Our Stories”. Weaving Aboriginal storytelling, live music and Aboriginal Fish Dance and Festival Anthem to guide the broader community into the spirit of place, by providing imagery through spoken word, live music and Aboriginal dance and inspiring the listeners imagination back in time. The aim is to walk on country together, in mutual acknowledgment as well as acknowledgement of the past, the present moment and our shared future. This will be a very inclusive and heart warming journey for all.
