Empowering Artists and Fostering a Thriving Regional Arts Ecosystem

Heartdancers has been at the forefront of artist development across the Central Coast, Sydney, and Newcastle regions. Through its Artist-Centred Design approach, Heartdancers has invested in capacity-building sessions, fostering multidisciplinary and cross-cultural collaboration between First Nations and culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) artists. By providing over $828,261 in income and development opportunities to more than 300 diverse artists and cultural educators, Heartdancers supports their growth and creative exploration. Its accessible programs, workshops, and events have engaged over 80,000 people, promoting audience development while cultivating unity, respect, and belonging through the power of arts and culture.

Transformative Arts and Cultural Programs for Social Impact:

For more than a decade Heartdancers has created long-term value through the power of arts and culture by designing and delivering innovative Human Centred Design arts and cultural programs to address some of Australia’s, and arguably the world’s, most pressing societal problems: unemployment, discrimination, social and cultural isolation, mental health and wellbeing issues, inequality and disconnection from nature and the environment. For almost a decade, we have been committed to a long-term strategy of investing in low-cost, world-class, expandable programs that uphold principles of education, diversity, inclusion and innovation and physical & mental health and wellbeing

We acknowledge that the traditional custodians of this land we call Australia are holders and custodians of knowledge systems that are passed down from one generation to the next, through an oral tradition practiced for 70,000 years. We also acknowledge the Guringai, Darkinung, Awabakal, Dharug and Gadigal people,  on whose lands we live, learn and work, and pay deep respect to their elders, past and present, to their emerging leaders, and to the knowledge embedded forever in the Aboriginal custodianship of Country.
